Portland

This past weekend, Christie, Holly and I went to Portland, Oregon. Our only real plan for the short holiday was a spa appointment on Saturday afternoon; and wow, was it relaxing! Besides our massage, we spent most of the day afternoon shopping in this quaint little shopping district. Later, we joined friend of Christie’s for dinner and drinks. It rain pretty much our entire trip, which rather put a damper on the festivities (did you know that everyone carries an umbrella in Portland…I guess us umbrellas-are-for-wimps-and-tourists Seattleites were pretty easy to spot!) I would love to go back to Portland sometime when I can enjoy the outdoor markets and gardens….hopefully this summer sometime!

On our way out of town on Sunday, we stopped by the
Edgefield Winery. Although most of the shops and tasting houses were closed, we did manage to buy a couple of bottles of wine.

Christie...planning the next move.

Number 32

Last night, I celebrated my 32nd birthday with some friends and family. The evening started with drinks at the Dahlia Lounge with Christie. Later, Jill, Leif, Bridget, and Steve join us at the Palace Kitchen for a fabulous dinner. The menu at there was a bit unusual, but I believe everyone enjoyed their choices (although, I am not sure if Bridget will ever order the whole trout again…I think its eyes were staring at her!) Ed connected with us later for a nightcap up on Capital Hill, where the band, “Two Buck Chuck,” sang Happy Birthday to me! I had a wonderful birthday, thanks to everyone who helped me celebrate.

Seven

Last weekend, Bridget, Christie, and I had appointments at a very hip, very trendy salon called Seven. Along with our haircuts, we each received a complimentary consultation, which entailed an analysis of your bone structure, face shape, hair texture, and lifestyle. Who knew I have one eye lower than the other! Before we arrived at the salon, we all promised each other to do whatever our stylist recommended, however drastic. Although I did not shave my head like Britney Spears, I did have about a foot chopped off. Later that evening, we showed off our new dos at The Palomino for drinks (http://www.palomino.com/) and then Holly joined us for dinner at the Purple Cafe and Wine Bar. What a fabulous day of pampering!
