Wine and Murder

Last night I hosted a Mystery dinner party….Wine and Murder. The mystery was set in the wine region of Napa Valley. Five years ago, Barry Underwood, owner of the prestigious Underwood Wine Estates, mysteriously disappeared during the valley’s annual wine festival. A massive search at the time failed to turn up any clues and the case has been in the FBI’s unsolved files since then.
It is once again the annual wine festival in Napa. Last night, family and friends gathered at the stately Underwood mansion to celebrate. At midnight, a minor earthquake shook the mansion, causing the old wooden floor in the wine cellar to buckle. Barry’s well preserved body was discovered under the cedar planks. It was a clear case of murder.
The dinner guest included Tiny Bubbles, Barry’s fiancée at the time of his death, who is now married to Ralph Rottingrape; Ralph is Barry’s first cousin and heir to the Underwood Wine Estates; Otto Von Schnapps, a German wine merchant, who mysteriously came into a large some of money; Marilyn Merlot, the Wine Princess at the festival five years ago and is just plain bitchy; Hedy Shablee, the owner of a neighboring vineyard and a fierce competitor of the Underwood’s; Papa Vito, who has worked at the Underwood Winery for 60 years; Bonny Lass, a Scottish novelist who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time; and lastly Bud Wizer, the FBI agent investigating Barry’s murder.
Here are some photos from the evening (who knew my friends were such good actors!)

Ralph was unable to attend the event….hope you are feeling better, Michael!
